Welcome to PerkOnMain.com. Hopefully, our site will give you a feel for what we are all about… Perk is operated by Katie and Mark Hughes, brother/sister combo (and good pals, too!)
Perk on Main is a small town joint with delicious food and drinks, that you don't find in just any 'ole small town, but then again, Durham isn't any any old town! We provide sophisticated food, namely our famous crepes, wraps, burritos and salads, and a full line of espresso and coffee drinks, teas and chais. All served with a small town attitude, which means when we say, "it's our pleasure to serve you", we REALLY mean it!
Being a good neighbor and a responsible business is important to us. Our house coffee is organic and fairly traded (and delicious!) The milk we serve has no hormones. I don't give milk with hormones to my child, and so I won't give it to yours either. We recycle what's recyclable. We're about serving you the best products, but we are also about respecting the environment and our neighbors in the process.
We buy locally and support local business and charities whenever possible. We buy tomatoes and produce in the summer from local growers. Our most recent partnership is with Deerfield Farms, of Durham, from whom we now buy some of our milk.
We support the schools and local charities in lots of different ways. We sponsor tons of fund raisers, youth sports, children's theatre and provide coffee at the local road races.
Check out our menu and your mouth is sure to water. We serve specials and soups every day. Some of the most popular include breakfast quesadillas and blintzes on the weekend and Friday's special — The Thanksgiving Day Wrap. It's always a sell out.
Our staff is rock solid and the community that surrounds Perk on Main is tremendous. Stop in and you'll most likely bump into someone you know, and if not you'll surely feel welcomed anyway!
